The West End regeneration incorporates over 30 individual development sites and projects. To achieve sustainable growth in the area, large-scale development must be supported by the necessary social and environmental infrastructure, such as transport, schools, affordable housing, community facilities and open space. Funding for infrastructure is being pursued from a variety of government and non-government sources, including developer contributions. These contributions are collected in a streamlined way as a global sum so that larger infrastructure can be put in place once adequate contributions are received. For more information about developer contributions, please read the West End Area Action Plan.
